Balmoral Beach
The Gem of Sydney
If you’re on the lookout for one of Sydney’s best choices for relaxation, you’ve come to the perfect place! We’re going to tell you everything there is to know about the gem of Sydney — the Balmoral beach. This is the perfect escape from the busy, tumultuous life in the city. In fact, this is the perfect place for everyone looking to get rid of stress and let loose! The calm, turquoise water of the Balmoral beach, along with the golden, soft sand will make you want to stay there forever.
In addition to that, there are actually two beaches that make the Balmoral. Those are the Edward and the Balmoral Beach, which are separated by the Rocky Point Island. And, there’s a pedestrian bridge that sets them apart and leads the visitors out to the peninsula.
About Balmoral
Balmoral beach got the name after the Balmoral Castle, which is the large estate house in Aberdeenshire, Scotland. This house is also famous as Royal Deeside and a favourite residence of the royals in summer, too.
The Balmoral Beach Conservation Area is part of the New South Wales State Heritage Register. The registered area includes the promenade, esplanade, rotunda, and Bathers’ Pavilion, which date back to the 1930s.
As we’ve mentioned earlier, the Balmoral includes Balmoral and Edwards Beaches. The outcrop of Rocky Point is the one that separates them. In addition to that, to simplify things, people usually refer to both of them as simply Balmoral.
This area has magnificent views across the entrance to Manly, North Head, Middle Harbour, and Clontarf. The harbour beaches are facing northeast and are sheltered from ocean swell thanks to the Middle Head. This wonderful area has so much to offer both to the locals and the visitors.
There is nothing that will calm you down better than a walk over the bridge and around the Rocky Point Island. This walk will grant you the opportunity to take in all the wonderful views over the Balmoral beach. In addition to that, you can also take a stroll along the esplanade and enjoy having a picnic on a grassy area beside the beach. What’s more, there’s a lot of shaded areas, too. So, if you’re not that much into “soaking the Sun,” you can still be at the beach and soak in its beauties. And, if you’re looking for a way to stay active, you can go snorkelling, kayaking, paddle-boarding and more! (From beaches to buildings, bridges, and an array of services, Sydney has it all.
